A collection of java applets I've written. Most of them are simulations or cellular automata.
- Morphogenesis / Pattern formation
- Simulation of a Gray-Scott reaction-diffusion system. An example of a mechanism for pattern formation.
- Diffusion-Limited Aggregation (DLA) - a fractal growth process.
- Physics
- Simulation of a gas: release from a container and mixing. Examples of irreversible processes.
- Measuring time with music (Drake, S., The Role of Music in Galileo's Experiments. Scientific American, p. 98, June 1975.)
- Simulation of a pendulum and two magnets. Example of a chaotic (i.e. unpredictable) system.
- An illustration of relativistic time dilation.
- Standing wave particles - a particle system makes a standing wave visible.
- Cellular automata
- Excitable medium. A cellular automaton that models signal propagation.
- The forest-fire model
- The voter model
- Misc
- Language generator - the java version of artist Mikael Lundberg's 'Språkgeneratorn' (the language generator). The java port was originally written for Svenska Dagbladet.
- Simulated ant trails - closely related to Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithms.
- Simulated slime moulds - social amoebae.
- Augustus' sundial - animation showing where the shadow falls during various parts of the year.
- Collective movement. Based on "Recipes for collective movement".
- Bouncing images - a rather silly way to display collections of images.
